Anita Hartig sings worldwide at the most important stages, such as the Bavarian State Opera, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Semperoper Dresden, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Hamburg State Opera, Zurich Opera, Teatro alla Scala Milan, Opéra national de Paris, Teatro Real in Madrid, Gran Teatre del Liceu Barcelona, the Metropolitan Opera New York and many more. Her most important roles include Mimì (La bohème), Violetta Valéry (La traviata), Amelia Grimaldi (Simon Boccanegra), Liù (Turandot), Micaëla (Carmen), Marguerite (Faust), Contessa (Le nozze di Figaro), Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni) and she has worked with conductors such as Adam Fischer, Franz Welser-Möst, Bertrand de Billy, Daniele Rustioni, Carlo Rizzi, Dan Ettinger, Marco Armiliato and Ivor Bolton.
