Croation tenor Tomislav Mužek was born in Germany and studied voice in Vienna. He has had his breakthrough as a lyric tenor, portraying roles such as Edgardo, Nemorino, Alfredo, Ferrando or Don Ottavio and has successfully moved to more dramatic roles like Erik, Stolzing, Max, Rodolfo, Don Carlo, Don José, or the Prince in Rusalka. This season he will sing Max and Rodolfo at the Semperoper Dresden, Prince at the Opéra national de Bordeaux and Stolzing at the Teatro Real in Madrid.
Engagements in the past have brought him to stages like the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, Opéra national de Paris, the Semperoper in Dresden, the Hamburg State Opera, the Berlin State Opera, the Vienna State Opera, the opera houses in Bologna, Torino, Naples, Genoa, the Zurich Opera House, the Grand Théâtre de Genève, the Theatre du Capitole in Toulouse, the Bayreuth Festival, the Salzburg Festival and many more.
Tomislav Mužek has worked with conductors such as Riccardo Muti, Myung Wun Chung, Gianandrea Noseda, Gustavo Dudamel, Ottavio Dantone, Pierre Boulez, Christian Thielemann, Peter Schneider, Jonathan Darlington, Zubin Mehta, Sebastian Weigle, Ivor Bolton, Omer Meir Welber, Christopher Hogwood, Christoph von Eschenbach, Manfred Honeck and others.
