Regine Hangler has been a member of the ensemble at the Vienna State Opera since 2013/14. There, she has sung roles such as Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus, Elsa in Lohengrin, Chrysothemis in Elektra, Freia in Das Rheingold, Helmwige in Die Walküre and Gutrune in Die Götterdämmerung, as well as the title roles in Ariadne auf Naxos and in Daphne.

She will open her 2024/25 season as the Fourth Maid in Elektra under the baton of Mark Elder at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples. At the Vienna State Opera she will perform as Gertrud in Hänsel and Gretel, and as Freia, Helmwige, Gutrune and 3^rd Norn in Wagner’s Ring of the Nibelungs, amongst others.

For her portrayal of Daphne, she was highly acclaimed also in Berlin under the baton of Marek Janowski and in New York and Cleveland under Franz Welser-Möst. She also had great success at the Salzburg Festival with her interpretation of Xanthe in Die Liebe der Danae and as Gutrune at the Tokyo Spring Festival. In 2018, she gave her celebrated debut at the Harusai Spring Festival in Tokyo as Elsa, and sang Helmwige at the Bayreuth Festival and at Opéra National de Paris, as well as Chrysothemis at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan. In the summer of 2021, Regine Hangler participated in the Salzburg Festival’s production of Elektra. The following year, she could be seen as Helmwige in Die Walküre and as Gutrune in Götterdämmerung with the Dresdner Philharmonie under the baton of Marek Janowski. In 2023, Regine returned to the role of Helmwige, this time at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples and under the baton of Dan Ettinger. She will return to Naples in 2024 for Elektra.

Engagements as a concert singer have taken her to Austria, Germany, Albania, the Netherlands, Slovenia, Hungary, Japan and Israel. Her discography and videography continue to grow steadily.

Regine Hangler started her musical career as a violinist and violist, and transitioned to vocal studies later, thus fulfilling her childhood dream. She completed her studies at the Carinthia State Conservatory and the Vienna University of Music with distinction. At the same time, she worked with KS Mara Zampieri in Padua and furthered her education with numerous masterclasses. She has been awarded several scholarships for the gifted, became a finalist of the Italian Aslico competition and won the second prize in the Birgit Nilsson Competition.

Regine Hangler gehört seit der Spielzeit 2013/14 dem Ensemble der Wiener Staatsoper an, wo sie in vielen Rollen, wie u. a. Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus), Daphne (Daphne), Elsa (Lohengrin), Chrysothemis (Elektra), Gutrune (Götterdämmerung), Freia (Das Rheingold), Helmwige (Die Walküre) sowie in der Titelpartie von Ariadne auf Naxos zu erleben war.

Sie wird ihre Spielzeit 2024/25 als Vierte Magd in Elektra unter der musikalischen Leitung von Mark Elder am Teatro San Carlo in Neapel eröffnen. An der Wiener Staatsoper wird sie unter anderem als Gutrune in Hänsel und Gretel und als Freia, Helmwige, Gutrune und 3. Norn in Wagners Ring des Nibelungen zu erleben sein.

In der Saison 2022/23 war die Sopranistin als Helmwige in Die Walküre und als Gutrune in Götterdämmerung mit der Dresdner Philharmonie unter der Leitung von Marek Janowski zu erleben. Außerdem sang sie in Neapel Helmwige unter der Leitung von Dan Ettinger.

Mit großem Erfolg verkörperte sie die Titelpartie in Daphne in Berlin unter Marek Janowski und in New York und Cleveland unter Franz Welser-Möst, außerdem Xanthe in Die Liebe der Danae bei den Salzburger Festspielen und Gutrune beim Springfestival Tokyo. 2018 gab sie ihr vielgelobtes Debüt beim Harusai Spring Festival in Tokio als Elsa. Bei den Bayreuther Festspielen und der Opéra National de Paris war sie als Helmwige und an der Mailänder Scala als Chrysothemis zu Gast. Im Sommer 2021 wirkte Regine Hangler bei der Produktion Elektra der Salzburger Festspiele mit.

Als Konzertsängerin war Regine Hangler bisher in Österreich, Deutschland, Italien, Albanien, den Niederlanden, Slowenien, Ungarn, Israel und Japan zu erleben. In den letzten Jahren entstanden zahlreiche CD Produktionen, Rundfunk- und Fernsehübertragungen.

Regine Hangler begann ihre musikalische Ausbildung als Geigerin und Bratschistin. Mit dem Wechsel zum Gesang verwirklichte sie ihren Kindheitstraum und schloss dann auch ihr Studium am Kärntner Landeskonservatorium und an der Universität für Musik in Wien jeweils mit Auszeichnung ab. Zeitgleich arbeitete sie mit KS Mara Zampieri in Padua. Zahlreiche Meisterkurse rundeten ihre Ausbildung ab. Sie war oftmalige Trägerin diverser Begabtenstipendien, Finalistin des Wettbewerbes Aslico in Italien und gewann den 2. Preis im Birgit Nilsson Wettbewerb.
