The Duisburg Music Prize was first awarded in 1990. It is intended for outstanding achievements in the field of music and musical theater. The prize money of EUR 10,000 is contributed by the Köhler-Osbahr Foundation.
The prize winner in 2021 is the countertenor Valer Sabadus. The award ceremony by Sören Link, the Lord Mayor of the City of Duisburg, will take place on Sun 21 November 2021 at the Theater Duisburg.
