The internationally highly appreciated tenor Andreas Conrad has a large and very varied repertoire, that comprises more than 80 roles. In the current season he was planned to sing Mime in the new production of the full Ring-Cycle at the Opera Australia, which is postponed to 2023 due to the COVID Pandemic.
In 2022 he will perform the part of The Fool (Wozzeck) in Monte Carlo and the part of Captain (Wozzeck) in Valencia. Upcoming engagements will take Andreas Conrad to the Hamburgische Staatsoper (Lady Macbeth from Mzensk / The Shabby) under the batton of Kent Nagano. Further he returns to the Teatro Real Madrid as Edmund in Lear (Co-Production with Opera National de Paris – Direction: C. Bieito / S. Young) and to the Metropolitan Opera New York with the legendary production of Janáček’s The House of the Death by Partrice Chéreau .
In 2020/21 Andreas Conrad sang Mime (Siegfried) at Teatro Real Madrid. At the beginning of the season 2019/20 he was the Police Inspector in the new production of Shostakovich’s The Nose at Hamburg State Opera followed by a concert tour of the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Yannick Nézet-Séguin (Die Frau ohne Schatten / Der Bucklige).
Andreas Conrad appears regularly on the great stages of the world. Guest engagements have taken him to Salzburg Festival, to the Opéra de Monte Carlo as Herodes (Salome) and Loge (Das Rheingold). He also was guest at Vienna State Opera, the Opera Australia Sydney and Melbourne, as well as Metropolitan Opera New York, Washington National Opera, Opéra National de Paris and the Grand Théâtre de Genève (Boris Godunov / Shuijsky). At the Bayreuth Festival 2015-2017 he performed the part of Mime (Das Rheingold & Siegfried).
Andreas Conrad works with conductors such as Philippe Jordan, Fabio Luisi, Christian Thielemann, Kirill Petrenko, Ingo Metzmacher and Marek Janowski. Directors such as Calixto Bieito, Frank Castorf, Andreas Homoki, Vincent Boussard, Willy Decker, Robert Carsen, Harry Kupfer, Hans Neuenfels, Christoph Marthaler and Dieter Dorn appreciate his stage presence, great acting and vocal charisma.
From 1984 to 2007 he was a member of the Komische Oper Berlin. In 1998 Andreas Conrad was appointed Berlin Kammersänger.
